In your company, you have teams and inter-teams. The inter-team refers to the connections made with other teams, departments, countries, and companies to keep your organisation running smoothly.
The world’s most dynamic companies recognise that there are no problems, challenges, opportunities, or innovations that can be delivered by a single team.
By seeing the value others can bring to you, you can also help them succeed. Don’t focus only on your team’s goals — focus on helping other teams and your organisation succeed.
No one is an island within an organisation — we are all customers and suppliers in a broader service relationship. Contrary to this logic, people tend to build boundaries; they fail to see beyond their own “job” and immediate needs, their vital role within a larger whole. When this mindset spreads, the symptoms are obvious: distrust, selfish behaviour, and broken commitments. The results of these trends are even worse: compromised quality, minimal productivity, and poor customer service.
Promises, Promises! promises — and delivers — a transformational experience that creates the vision of a truly boundaryless organisation.
The inaugural meeting of the United League of Nations is about to begin… and you’ve been elected!
Empowered as politicians of your own nation — one of ten — you and your team must fulfil the promises made to your demanding electorate. In a world of diplomatic intrigue, politics, scandals, and a lot of fun, you’ll have to overcome distrust, cultural barriers, and communication breakdowns to keep your commitments. But as the clock ticks, the Promises, Promises! experience breaks through those barriers to reveal the importance of fulfilling both “local” and “global” priorities.
You’ll be surprised by how much you’ll learn while developing essential skills based on productive collaboration, open communication, and results-focused teamwork — all aimed at achieving the ultimate goal: becoming a true United League of Nations.
• Shift from a “me” mindset to a “we” perspective.
• Operate more smoothly and efficiently, fostering an environment of trust.
• Negotiate to generate mutually beneficial results and productive partnerships – everyone is both a customer and a supplier.
• Optimise overall success by aligning your efforts to meet individual, team, and organisational goals.
• Employ broad collaboration and communication — focused on the needs of the “big picture” — to deliver outstanding internal and external service.
Promises, Promises! is a great programme for awakening participants to how easily we can lose sight of the bigger picture at work. We can become so obsessed with our own small piece of the puzzle that we neglect to engage in the wider-scale activities necessary for organisational success. It’s excellent for breaking people out of the typical “that’s not my job” mindset. It also focuses participants on identifying who they need to involve to drive change in the areas they are responsible for. We use this programme to raise awareness about key stakeholders and how to engage with them during the implementation of operational excellence initiatives.
“Our leaders were struggling with collaboration. We knew that, as a good group of teams, we weren’t always at our best. Deciding what to prioritise and when was always the usual internal challenge. Some teams would ‘win’ at the expense of others.
The result we needed was to ensure that everyone clearly understood the role they played in our ability to be brilliant in every function. This was meant to drive personal accountability — not just among our leaders, but among every individual across teams throughout our company.
Your experience, Promises, Promises!, allowed us to bring 200 people together to work on real-life situations we face daily and achieve 110% of our goals.
It was incredibly energising to see a room full of passionate people working so well together to overcome the obstacles preventing us from becoming a truly united team.
What we were able to achieve in half a day, with your support, would have taken us a year in the market. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to shift their team’s culture from good to great!”
