General Questions

What services does Eagle's Flight offer?

Eagle's Flight designs, develops and delivers experiential training programmes for use in both a classroom and a conference setting. In addition we provide extensive leadership development programmess, complete performance measurement services and custom programme design for our clients.

You call the type of training you offer 'experiential'. Does that mean ropes courses?

That is a common misconception. 'Experiential' actually defines the basis upon which all Eagle's Flight programmes are developed. Within our programmes, participants become engaged in an experience that mirrors the pressures and challenges faced in a real-world situation. In the debrief which follows, they discover powerful learning when their experiences are linked to their situations back on the job. This approach fosters an environment of accelerated learning through self-discovery and participation. While some of our programmes may be offered in the outdoors, we do not currently offer ropes courses or wilderness adventures.

Who has Eagle's Flight worked with in the past?

Eagle's Flight has an extensive global client list made up of blue-chip multinationals and companies of all sizes across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, manufacturing and financial.

Can I train my own people?

Eagle's Flight offers a range of delivery options. Companies may purchase Leader's Kits and Train the Trainer sessions so that their internal trainers are certified to deliver our programs within their company for groups of up to 50 people at one time.

How can we customise the programme to apply to us?

Each programme we deliver is carefully tailored to address the issues within your organisation. Further customisation is available for an additional fee and can vary from simply adding your company logo to designing a completely new programme specific to your company.

How do you know that your training changes behavior?

Case studies, quotes and testimonials from clients who have experienced the impact of our programmes on the performance of their employees, tell us that we're making a difference! In addition to these 'soft' measures, our Performance Measurement and Improvement Division is available to design pre and post measurement components to measure your results. We'd be happy to work with you to prepare something that's right for your organisation.

Conference Questions

How can I promote this session to my group?

Not only do we deliver a conference event that people love, we can help you create added excitement and anticipation within your group, through the use of programme pre-touches and invitations. In addition, our programmes contain strong and interesting themes that provide great opportunities for linking events, giveaways and dinner menus.

I have 2,000 people attending our corporate meeting. Can you handle a group that size?

Absolutely! Our seasoned facilitators are experienced in delivering sessions to audiences ranging from 10 to over 4000 people at one time - all with consistently rave reviews! We have project teams working on the details and logistics, both behind the scenes and on-site, to ensure that every detail of your session goes off without a hitch.

We have an agreed upon theme for this conference and whatever programme or activity we choose, needs to incorporate the same message. Can you do this?

Yes. Our programme debriefs are all custom tailored to address the unique needs of each client. Prior to your session, our facilitator will spend time talking with you about the theme, issues, and topics your organisation will be addressing at the conference. They will then develop a debrief that is seamless, both in incorporating your conference theme and in delivering on your objectives.

My people would rather play golf or go shopping. Why would I choose an Eagle's Flight event?

One of the greatest challenges facing those planning conference events and meeting agendas, is keeping participants involved, motivated and interested throughout, while still providing sessions that contribute value and learning relevant to the job. Companies are demanding increased return-on-investment from their meetings, and an Eagle's Flight event combines the 'entertainment' value of golf or shopping, with greater awareness and opportunity for change to improve performance back on the job.

But what about having fun?

Don't worry - we'd never forget the fun! People learn, while having tons of fun! We provide an environment where both happen simultaneously, allowing the whole group to discover in a short time what often takes days to teach by traditional classroom methods. The analogies in the programmes drive home your message and participants walk away with a common language and shared experience to help reinforce the learning on the job.

Skills-based Questions

How do your skill programmes differ from other training providers?

Unlike skill-based training programmes that are typically made up of large amounts of highly detailed content delivered in a lecture-based format, Eagle's Flight skill-based programmes are energetic, engaging and high impact. They focus on knowledge transfer, skill acquisition and behavior change. Since the goal of being trained on a new skill is to immediately be able to do things differently, we deliver the content first and allow plenty of opportunity for practice throughout.

Are they still experiential?

Definitely! Using an experiential framework, participants learn in an atmosphere of relevance and fun, discovering practical skills and techniques that can be applied directly on the job.

All of these programmes require a smaller group size. Why is that?

Our skill-based programmes are most effective when they bring together people who share the same issues and challenges. By limiting group size, it allows more time for individuals and the group to work through real-world examples, practice new skills and apply built-in feedback mechanisms that provide self-assessment along the way.

How do these programmes fit with your conference programmes?

Our conference programmes create awareness around the necessary changes that individuals need to make, in order to achieve greater success. They bring people to a 'point of choice' and enable them to make effective changes in behavior by understanding the wide range of consequences of their choices and accepting responsibility for them. Once they reach this point, our skill-based programs teach them the skills required to be more successful in their role.

Leadership Questions

What sets Eagle's Flight apart from other companies that provide leadership training?

There are two key points of difference that set Eagle's Flight apart from other companies that provide leadership training: the results we deliver and the experiential component that is a part of everything we do. By following our comprehensive, integrated approach, we are able to ensure you receive the results you expect. We begin by teaching the skill, then engage the heart through a series of experiential exercises and programs. Following this, we employ the hands with practical tools and opportunities to apply and practice the new skill. The final test is back on the job, where the new skills translate into results.

How long does it take to train my leaders?

Acquiring leadership skill is a process, not an event, and cannot come about simply through exposure to great content or excellent delivery. Focusing on sustained behavior change is characteristic of all of the Eagle's Flight Living Leadership™ modules. We refer to the analogy that learning to be a world-class leader is like creating a magnificent web. It is done one strand at a time, with each strand interconnected and serving to reinforce the whole. Our approach is an integrated one, linking together content as the programme progresses. Practical application on the job after each module ensures each new skill set is mastered before moving on to the next.

Four years seems like a long time. Can you do it in less?

Absolutely. While we do recommend two to four years for a comprehensive leadership initiative, we also understand that every company does not have the time or resources for such a commitment. We can cover all of the leadership content, without the application and retention pieces, in much less time.

How will you work with my organization to develop our leaders?

Eagle's Flight is committed to working together with your organization as a true partner. To achieve this, we adhere to seven principles of partnerships:
1)Understand that long-term cooperation may put one side of the partnership at a short-term disadvantage. Our vision is tomorrow's potential – not 'keeping score' day to day.
2)Be committed to working through issues together.
3)Maximise the strengths of both partners to gain competitive advantage.
4)Develop future opportunities together.
5)Ensure that our commitment to one another is just as important as our internal company commitments.
6)Enhance the strategic plans of one another.
7)Create a partnership that is organisational – not based solely on individuals.

How can we make sure the training will stick?

Ensuring that ongoing application of the learning occurs on the job is a key success factor for any leadership development initiative. In order to make certain that the knowledge and skill is transferred to the workplace, Eagle's Flight offers many optional retention tools, including: pre and post training 360 degree feedback; email reinforcement; telephone coaching; regular practice, debrief and application of the course content and periodic refresher reviews to address specific issues encountered when applying the content on the job.
